The Veterans Memorial Cemetery Project and the OKMHF in cooperation with various groups in Stillwater will host approved trips by viable Honors Campaigns to Stillwater as a means of recognizing your community’s veterans and students participating in your campaign. The recommended trip includes two days with an over-night stay in Stillwater, during any time of the year. Activities include:
-
A guided tour of relevant sites in Stillwater.
- An Honors Campaign Recognition Ceremony at a local hotel to include a banquet and program involving an appropriate guest speaker.
- A morning awards ceremony at the Payne County Veterans Memorial at Boomer Lake during which veterans and student participants are recognized.
You may participate in an OKMHF arranged trip that includes other Honors Campaign groups, or plan your own trip coordinating with the OKMHF through your assigned Ambassador.
Expenses involve travel, hotel accommodations, meals, and banquet charges.
Supporting groups in Stillwater include the Oklahoma State University Extension Service, the Stillwater Visitors Bureau, local businesses and civic groups, as well as the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Project.
